Myth Busting -Inclusive customer service made easy. Be #PeopleSmart

Be #PeopleSmart Founder, Jodie Greer, chats with Welco.Me Founder, Gavin Neate to dispel the myths that: "Staff training ticks all the boxes;" and "We can't know what our customers need until we meet them." Gavin shares how working with military police dogs lead him to create a pioneering solution to improve customer service, and ensures we can give an inclusive first impression. If customer service is important to you, you definitely won't want to miss this one. You'll also hear why searching for #Goosebumps is likely to show you a picture of Gavin's arm. Once you've taken a listen, check out http://www.wel-co.me for yourself. Even if it's just because they have such a cool web address, although once you know about them you'll no doubt want to know more.

Do you have a diversity and inclusion (D&I) strategy?

It is often found that even with the best intentions there is a core strand of D&I that does not get enough focus and that is disability inclusion (DI).  It can sometimes be difficult to admit to ourselves there is more we need to do, however that’s how progress is made and making a commitment to make improvements where they are needed demonstrates genuine care. You cannot have true D&I without the DI.

Are you confident you are reaching the best talent?

If you aren’t recognised as a disability inclusive business you may well find people are choosing not to do business with you and similarly choosing to offer their talents elsewhere.  Don’t miss out to your competitors, take proactive action today to ensure you are people smart.

Have your employees and customers got access to all of the tools and services they need?

Proactively designing solutions and services, both technical and physical, with accessibility in mind will set you up for success and ensure you aren’t missing out commercially; this also means you will not be seeing increased costs in retrofits or even litigation.

Even with the best intentions there will always be some individuals who require an adjustment and often these are at little or no cost.  Are you equipped to manage these requests?

If you recognise some opportunities for improvements and would like to understand how, Be #PeopleSmart can set you up for success.

Let’s make change together.
