Camilo’s top 3 reasons for being part of PaSHN:
- To be able to have a space to chat, bounce ideas off each other and advocate endlessly!
- To learn off others myself and appreciate our differences in our experiences – even though we are all advocates in our own right – the beautiful thing about the disability community is that no two people have the same journey!

Julie Reynolds – Founder of Active Inclusion: Equity in Employment

Julie was once described as a ‘hybrid professional’ – corporate, heritage, charities etc’. They used to think this was a negative thing, but now realise it’s a strength and uniqueness.
Julie’s skills and expertise are connecting diverse knowledge frameworks and models. Visualising and understanding common elements, visions and purpose and then working to deliver them through coproduction, storytelling – creating social value with lived experience.
Having a squiggly career because of barriers they faced in employment, Julie uses their skills and knowledge to support others to navigate intersectional barriers. Visit the LinkedIn page of Active Inclusion: Equity in Employment to find out more.
Julie’s top 3 reasons for being part of PaSHN:
- Being caught. A year and a half ago, I found myself, yet again not in work. Health and mental health conditions had increased and worsened. I was lost. I reached out to the disability community, and I connected to Jodie. Jodie is an amazing professional, who is kind and supportive and generous. It’s a privilege to work with Jodie on this community space.
- Growing and learning. This community space is an important part of my professional and personal development. Firstly: meeting peers who all the intent for equity for us in employment, and who are from all over the world, give me not on my personal hope that disability inclusion will one day be part of organisations ‘everyday business’ and not an ‘other’, and the stigma of employing us will go.
Secondly, I learn so much from peers. Access design, language, perceptions, diversity (there’s nothing worse than been in a bubble of the same thing!), skills and knowledge. Each time I come away from a meeting, I am blown away by how one theme, one question, can open up so much diversity of thought, which we all learn from. - Kindness. Knowing Jodie for over a year and half now, I feel safe taking part in anything she does. The space we have is safe, confidential, and a place where I can bring myself and be open and learn. I enjoy it very much. I would recommend joining, because you will not only things you don’t know, but grow deep meaningful peer support.
